Dear Wisconsin Citizens,
My greeting to this monthly Chair letter was intentional because it is important to all not just Democrats. Our State is at a crossroads and we all need to respond. The HUGE success of the Recall effort was not just because of Democrats --- Independents and Republicans joined the Recall effort. This resulted in huge success and now the next stage begins; determining the most viable opponent against Walker. We have a challenge because of the huge money from out-of-state contributors like the AIG CEO, the Swift Boat moneyman and other big time 1%ers . We can be successful from the grassroots level if we follow the model used to get over a MILLION signatures for Recall. Stay involved and contribute your time and/or money! A second concern this month is the TERRIBLE Assembly Mining Bill that did not even have a sponsor name attached to it! The Assembly Republicans were not even able to accept the authorship of the bill and rightly so if the media reports that the primary author of the bill was the MINING COMPANY that would benefit. Our friend Tim Cullen has publicly stated that the Assembly Bill will not be passed by the Senate. I hope he is correct because
it is a giveaway to the mining company! The last item regards the ability of citizens to express their right to peacefully assemble and express their grievances at the State Capitol. This involves a huge overreach by the Walker gang to limit dissent! Let your friends and neighbors know.

Sincerely,
Doug Harrod
Chair, Democratic Party of Walworth County
