August 25, 2010

Dear Fellow Democrats,

I had been feeling a bit frustrated about what our elected officials have accomplished in Washington DC since the inauguration of President Obama. It is easy to become frustrated as we listen to the mainstream media criticizing everything the Dems have accomplished. Even the liberal/progressives have critiqued the progress of the Democratic Party. Feeling this way I thought I needed a boost so I bought a ticket to the Barrett/Obama Fundraiser in Milwaukee.

Once again I am inspired and enthusiastic! The best take home message came from our President. He talked about the GOP having eight years to drive us deeply into the ditch. They handed over the keys and the Dems have been working and pushing and digging to get the car out of the ditch. We have gotten the car out of the ditch and the Republicans want the keys back. However, R stands for reverse – we do not want to go back to the ditch. Instead, we want to put it in D for Democrats or Drive.

Please get involved!

Sincerely,

Kate Harrod
Chair, Democratic Party of Walworth County
